Lorela Mehmeti
PhD Candidate in Architecture and Design Cultures at the University of Bologna, she collaborates with the Research Centre for the Cultural and Creative Industries (CRICC). Her current research delves into the analysis of scientific production and critical examinations of design cultures. Additionally, she serves as the Associate Editor of the scientific journal diid.disegno industrial industrial design.
With an MA in Interdisciplinary Research and Studies on Eastern Europe, she focused on the integration processes of Western Balkan countries into the EU. Her previous roles, including research positions at the University of Zagreb and ECMI Kosovo, specialized in migration issues, social inclusion of marginalized groups and minorities, and co-participation strategies. Having worked extensively with civil society in the Balkan region, she gained expertise in project development, particularly in grant writing and fundraising among major donors.
Furthermore, as a Visiting Fellow at the Knowledge Futures Organization in New York City, she explores innovative approaches to project design and new co-design methodologies for scientific editorial publishing. Her work emphasizes the utilization of culture and creativity as tools to enhance community resilience and visibility of scientific results to society.
